Your first hour on a 2x Rust server

Wipe day rewards preparation. Here's a compact hour-one plan for anyone spawning fresh on a Rustmates 2x server, whether it's your first time or your fiftieth wipe.

Your first hour on a 2x server decides the wipe. Farm stone and wood immediately, place a two-by-two base with a tool cupboard away from monuments, then push for a workbench and sheet metal. This guide gives the exact order, the commands worth knowing, and the beginner mistakes that cost bases.

    Before you spawn

    • Check the wipe timer on /wipe-schedule.
    • Join the queue 5 minutes before wipe. Legend members get queue skip.
    • Have graphics settings and F1 binds set before the map loads.

    Minute 0–10: spawn and gather

    • Type /kit for the starter kit.
    • Grab wood and stone on the way — don't stop, don't fight yet.
    • Look at monument placement: coast vs inland changes your build spot.

    Minute 10–25: first base

    • 2x1 with an airlock. Not a 1x1 — a 1x1 dies to a single sheet metal door camp.
    • Place your TC first. Use /remove if you misplace a wall (grace window).
    • Stock 1000 stone in the TC before you upgrade to sheet. Upkeep matters from minute one.

    Minute 25–45: gearing up

    • Bow → crossbow → revolver → DB. Skip nothing on wipe day.
    • Run a small monument for components and low-tier weapons.
    • Bandages and syringes over food — food is easy, healing is what wins fights.

Minute 45–60: first raid or first PvP

    • If you have satchels, look for wooden bases with visible loot signals (smoke, sounds).
    • If not, farm sulfur and BPs for one more hour before engaging bigger targets.
    • Use /shop and /balance — you earn currency from playtime and can exchange for niche items.

    Biggest wipe-day mistakes

    • Building on top of a monument. Free loot for anyone who runs it.
    • 1x1s and starter huts left overnight — they will be raided.
    • Chasing a fight naked into geared territory. You lose the kit, you lose 15 minutes.
