How to Join a Rust Server
Two ways to connect to RustMates: the fastest is the F1 console with client.connect IP:PORT. Or find us in the Community server browser.
1. Launch Rust
Open Rust from your Steam library. Wait for the main menu to fully load.
2. Copy the connect IP
On any RustMates server page, click "Copy connect IP" — it copies the full client.connect IP:PORT command to your clipboard.
3. Open the F1 console
In Rust's main menu or in-game, press F1 to open the developer console.
4. Paste and press Enter
Paste the copied command (Ctrl+V) into the console and press Enter. Rust connects you directly to the server.
Alternative: server browser
Press Play → Community → search "RustMates". Pick the server you want and click Join.
