Raid protection on Solo and Solo/Duo servers

"Raid protection" means different things on different servers. On Rustmates it's a narrow, transparent system designed to protect new spawns and offline solo players — not to make bases unraidable.

Raid protection on solo servers means offline bases decay slower and new players get a short grace period after spawning, so logging off does not automatically mean losing everything. RustMates applies it on Solo and Solo/Duo servers only, keeping Main 2x fully vanilla-style so group play stays competitive and fair.

    What raid protection is

On Solo and Solo/Duo, two mechanics protect players who aren't logged in:

    • Offline decay slowdown — while the base owner is offline, decay damage on exterior walls is reduced so you don't log in to a collapsed base after a bad ping night.
    • Starter grace period — a newly placed Tool Cupboard gets a short window during which it is protected from raiding tools. Long enough to place doors, not long enough to camp inside forever.

    What raid protection is NOT

    • It is not "offline raid protection" in the classic sense. Your base can still be raided when you're offline — the base just decays slower.
    • It doesn't stop C4, rockets, or explosives. Nothing is invincible.
    • It doesn't apply to loot rooms, TCs deep in your base, or upgraded bases past the grace window.

Why Main 2x doesn't have it

Main is a group server. Big groups can rotate who's online, so an "offline" mechanic just turns into an exploit. On Solo, one player literally cannot rotate — the mechanic exists because the alternative is players quitting after a single offline raid on wipe day.

    How the grace period works

    • Timer starts when you place a fresh TC.
    • Applies only to the initial base build — not to expansion TCs on the same wipe.
    • Displayed in-game when you look at the TC.
